Kim Brown is a nationally recognized Catholic speaker, author, and spiritual director whose dynamic presentations and deeply rooted faith have inspired thousands across the country. Featured on EWTN, Ave Maria Radio, and Relevant Radio, Kim shares the truths of the Catholic faith with clarity, joy, and an authentic heart for ministry.
Kim holds a Master of Theology and a Master of Education, and has received formation from the Vita Consecrata Institute and the School of Faith for Spiritual Direction. She brings together a unique blend of theological insight, pastoral care, and real-world experience to serve individuals and communities seeking deeper relationship with Christ.
Before entering full-time ministry in 2012, Kim spent 13 years in Higher Education in North Texas as an Administrator. Since then, she has led hundreds of retreats for parishes, Catholic schools, diocesan staff, ministry teams, and lay faithful across the country. Her leadership roles have included Director of Adult Formation and RCIA, Associate Director of Vocations, and since 2018, Director of the Christian Renewal Center, the largest-capacity Catholic retreat center in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.
Kim is the author of Spiritual Lessons Along the Camino, available in both English and Spanish, a reflection guide rooted in her own pilgrimage experiences and designed to help readers grow in spiritual maturity. Passionate about equipping families and the laity, Kim has created tools such as the Catholic Family Vacation Bible School series and the CRC Spiritual Companion program to bring formation into homes and communities.
When she’s not running the largest capacity Catholic retreat center in Texas, leading retreats or speaking at conferences, Kim is most likely creating faith-based resources—or making another pilgrimage. Whether it’s through spiritual direction, keynote speaking, or retreat ministry, Kim’s mission remains the same: to help people encounter Jesus and live out the fullness of the Catholic faith.
Kim Brown is not only a gifted speaker and spiritual director—she is a proven leader whose vision, strategy, and passion for evangelization have revitalized ministries at various level of the Church.
As the part-time Director of Adult Formation and RCIA at her parish, Kim transformed a traditionally seasonal program into a thriving, year-round ministry. In just 11 months, RCIA enrollment skyrocketed from the annual average of 20 people to over 100 participants. This exponential growth was fueled by her innovative dual-track formation model, intentional parish outreach throughout the year (especially on Ash Wednesday, Easter, and Christmas), and a pastoral approach that met people where they were on their faith journey.
Beyond RCIA, Kim launched a robust Young Adult Ministry, including a monthly Theology on Tap that averaged 53 attendees, and developed quarterly parish missions, family retreats, and ongoing adult formation opportunities—ensuring there were always at least two options available to nurture the spiritual growth of parishioners.
Kim's leadership extended to the diocesan level, where she served as Associate Director of Vocations. Within a year, the number of high school and college-aged women actively discerning vocations grew from 80 to 150. She also initiated long-term strategies by creating Diocesan-wide Vocation Days for Kindergarten through 8th grade students, planting early seeds through age-appropriate encounters. Additionally, she organized Nun Runs for both high school and young adult women, providing opportunities for vocational discernment in action.
Since taking the helm as Director of the Christian Renewal Center (CRC) in 2018, Kim has overseen one of the most dramatic ministry turnarounds. Under her leadership from 2018 to 2024:
The number of lives impacted through retreat ministry has increased by 75%.
She has raised $2.5 million in donations and grants, compared to the prior average of $20,000 annually.
Over $2.3 million in renovations have been completed to ensure the CRC's longevity and hospitality.
She built a 5-month emergency fund and launched an endowment to sustain the ministry for generations.
Operational costs have been reduced by 8%, even amid 25% inflation, allowing retreat costs to go down and spiritual experiences to remain accessible.
Kim’s approach blends mission-driven leadership with measurable results, proving that with vision, strategy, and faith, ministries can grow and thrive—even in the most challenging environments.
